Our History
The Start
Did you know the original Hireco trailers were used to deliver coal and for farming in Ireland? The idea of trailer rental developed over the summer months renting flats to local businesses.
Fully Fledged Rental Company
The business developed into a fully-fledged rental company, when Pat Carson acquired both Hireco NI & Hireco Dublin.
First based in England
As the company developed, Hireco opened a branch in Thatcham and the fleet then totalled over 1000 trailers.
Doubled Overall Fleet Size
In the last 2 years Hireco successfully doubled their overall fleet size to over 2000 trailers due to a successful fleet acquisition strategy.
Acquisition of JB Trucking
Hireco increased their fleet by another 400 trailers through acquisition of JB Trucking.
3000 Trailers Milestone
Hireco reached a milestone in 2010 of 3000 trailers operating across the UK and Ireland.
Opening of Belfast Office
A central maintenance (Serviceco) and accounts team were set up in a brand-new office in Belfast.
Launch of New Head Office
New head office working with DP World London Gateway. A 3-acre site in the ideal location of the South.
Acquisition of JW Trailer Sales
Now known as Hireco Trailer Sales, selling and buying quality pre-used vehicles.
Serving the Retail
Serviceco becomes a limited company which now offers its service to retail customers rather than just Hireco fleet.
Award Winners
Hireco Dublin win the Cork Business Awards.
Launch of Hireco Truck Park
A premier truck stop, located within DP World – London Gateway, offering 170 secure parking spaces with fantastic facilities on both contract and pay as you go basis.
Launch of Hireco Truck Leasing
With an initial order of 250x MAN Tractor Units.
Hireco Dublin's Truck Wash Opens
Hireco Dublin unveiled its new truck and trailer wash at its new maintenance facility in Naas, Co. Kildare.
Hireco Go Electric
Adding LDV 100% electric vans to their fleet ahead of the light commerical vehicle launch in 2020.
